YNOPSIS (Not For Publication) When beautiful Judith Jones (Joan Leslie), torch singer with Tommy Coles' (Robert Alda) jump orchestra, learns she is to inherit ten million dollars if she marries by a certain date, her life takes on a sudden and exciting interest. Judy's chief obstacle in the matter of finding a husband rests in the wording of her uncle's will. To qualify for the fortune, Judy must marry only a man whose intelligence quotient is at least 150. In her quick search for an intelligent mate, Judy enrolls in an all-male college, Sierra Technical Institute, promising to make generous gifts to the college after marrying and winning her inheritance. At Sierra Tech., Judy meets two fabulous characters—Prof. Bartholomew Williams (William Prince) and Prof. Gabriel Popik (S. Z. Sakall), an elderly, romantic-minded son of Budapest much interested in chemistry and in Judy's present struggle to find a suitable husband. Unaware that the Board of Regents has agreed to Judy's enrollment, Prof. Williams announces in no uncertain terms that there is no place in the school for any girl—pretty, wealthy or not—and Judy leaves. She lingers nearby, however, working in a coffee shop as a waitress. Not far away, at a lake resort, Tommy Coles and his band move in for an engagement. From here on Judy's mind is in conflict—for she continues to see Tommy and Bart has gotten into the habit of visiting her at the coffee shop. Camille (Julie Bishop), Judy's roommate, a cute little taxi driver, is interested in men in general and Prof. Bart Williams in particular. Bart, aside from his mooning condition, has given little expression of his interest in Judy. She refuses.
