“DRAEGERMAN COURAGE”
EXPLOITATION
HOW TO SELL PICTURE
NEWS STYLE
Get the idea across that this is a story of current interest, headline material. One way of achieving this would be by installing a teletype machine which you may be able to borrow. In crisp newspaper style punch out dramatic story of trapped men slowly dying, etc... . and of course, at intervals, you include your playdate with plug for picture.
Some of your patrons may not know the meaning of Draegermen and so it would be to your advantage to use every means to explain. Tell them that a draegerman is a member of a specially trained miner's rescue squad whose sole duty is life saving work following a mine disaster. You might be able to interest your local newspaper in conducting a search for firemen or policemen who, like the heroic draegermen, have demonstrated outstanding courage in the performance of their appointed tasks.
HERO SEARCH
To sell the heroism angle in this pic
ture you might run a contest in conjunction with your local paper. Entrants are asked to clip a story from paper which in their opinion is the best example of an act of supreme courage comparable to that shown by the Draegermen. Award passes or promoted prizes.
