a EXPLOITATION IDEAS! YOUR LOBBY IS IMPORTANT By all means, make your lobby the mest compelling and attractive one you have ever devised. Enlarge some of the marvelous ad stills showing Robinson in dramatic poses. Give Marian Marsh, H. B. Warner, Frances Starr and-Anthony Bushell plenty of prominence. In this press sheet you will find ads that list the characters these players portray. Use that copy to describe them in your lobby frames. Copy like “Frances Starr as Nancy Voorhees whose soul was crucified and sold for 2c” should be punched across in dynamic type, as should the balance of the characters. Make your lobby scream “here is a masterpiece.” A black and white color scheme throughout would be in keeping with the theme of the story and would be marvelously effective. Enlarge the front and back pages of the special Gordon-Baker tabloid throwaway. Make a cut-out of the twenty-four sheet which is a knockout. FOR YOUR INFORMATION— The Hollywood Reporter, well-known coast trade daily, has this to say of the recent Los Angeles preview of First National’s “Five Star Final’’: “For the uncommon good sense to adhere so faithfully to the play in every detail, we congratulate the producers, and Byron Morgan for his adaptation. It must have been a perfect script. For the pace he has maintained, and the understanding he has shown in his expert direction, we congratulate Mervyn Le Roy. Nothing can stop him now.” This distribution of laurels continues until nearly every member of the cast, which includes Edward G. Robinson, Marian Marsh, H. B. Warner and Frances Starr, has had his share. Summing up, the Reporter remarks: “There can be no over-playing of ‘Five Star Final’—no matter what the billboards say, it goes double in real entertainment value.” UNUSUAL HERALD REMARKABLE TRAILER The herald on “Five Star Final” has been prepared along the lines of a regular tabloid newspaper in miniature size. It is five inches by nine inches and contains photographs of the players in dramatic poses as well as short, punehy stories. It is different from any herald you have ever seen. Give it plenty of distribution. If you want to get a real thrill, take a look at the all-talking trailer prepared by the First National production department on “Five Star Final.” If you haven’t the time to see it, buy it on our recommendation as one of the greatest sales arguments ever put on film. Give it plenty of playing time because it is irresistible. X. PLOITATION says: In “Five Star Final’? you have a road-show hit if there ever was one.
