Contest for Story on Life’s Gambles
Barbara Stanwyck treats everything like a gambler in ‘‘Gambling Lady.’’ With that in mind run a contest on the ‘‘oreatest gamble of my life.’’ Have newspaper readers submit the story of their greatest chance. Here’s a sample publicity story:
Here Are Rewards For Real Gamblers
“Life is a gamble,” says Barbara Stanwyek in “Gambling Lady,” coming to the Strand on Friday. | She took a gamble in love; she lost and then, staking everything on a final plunge, won again.
What was your big gamble? What | was the greatest gamble you ever took? For instance, have you ever | driven a car along a dark road and suddenly seen a shape loom up in front of you? Well, you gambled; either you hoped your brakes would hold or you steered around the mass | hoping that the road would be wide enough to let you by. |
Whatever your big gamble was, send it to the Daily News. For the five best stories, the News will award two tickets to see “Gambling Lady” at the Strand.
|
Maybe your gamble was on a job. Perhaps you had to make a decision on whether you would quit the job you had to take another that sounded more alluring. That was a gamble; but whatever you did, tell the Daily News about it and get one of those prizes.
