“GIRL MISSING’ CONTEST IS SURE FIRE This exploitation stunt has been selected by the directors of the merchandising plan for several reasons.
1. It will enroll a large percentage of movie fans because it gives them an opportunity to cash in on their knowledge of movie stars and the movies.
2. Because it is an excellent tie-up with newspapers and merchants, with many ramifications which will result in good to all.
3. Because of the fact that its unusualness will get everybody in town talking about the play and the theatre. It contains also, much of that familiar element known as S. A.
SOMETHING THE NEWSPAPERS SHOULD DO FOR TOU.
2. Cards should be provided to snipe stands of newsdealers.
3. Print throwaways, available for late contestants who wish back numbers of the paper.
4. Get circulation manager to run display ads in advance of the campaign, giving theatre and film due prominence.
. Run first page boxes in advance of the contest to build it up.
5 6. Take copy referring to the coming campaign and use it as fillers throughout the paper, in short columns.
