(20 minutes—No. 2019) *“PORKY IN THE NORTHWOODS” (Looney Tunes Cartoon Series). A howling burlesque on the films of the Northwest. (7 minutes—No. 2804) GEORGE HALL AND HOTEL TAFT ORCHESTRA (Melody Masters Series). A top notch radio aggregation that are sure to have your feet moving in double-quick time. Your painter can prepare a canvas cover for the whole front giving the facade the appearance of a log cabin as shown. Your banners will show up better against this background, and the whole thing will make the town sit up and take notice, at very little expense to you. ‘STORY OF LUMBER’ DISPLAY For a swell lobby display, order the Lumber series of stills. There are fifteen stills, complete with captions, and the set tells the whole story of lumber, from forest to factory. Mount these on some dark board and you’ve got an exhibit that people will want to look at. Contact the schools in your town, and if they’re receptive, make up some sets for them to exhibit in their libraries. Order the Lumber Series from Campaign Plan Editor, 321 W. 44th St. — Price $1.25. LUMBERJACK BALLY For an effective opening day street bally, dress two men as lumberjacks and send them out around town. They stop passersby, and in best back-woods fashion, say: ‘‘Can_ you tell us how to get to the Strand? We’re looking for ‘God’s Country and the Woman.’” Can hand out heralds after they get their answers. : TOY LOG HOUSE TIE-UP Tie up with department or toy store selling log construction sets for children. A fine window display can be made with sample constructed log cabins, stills from your show and boxed sets. Store may co-operate with you in running a contest for youngsters, for the best reproduction in logs of one of the houses in picture. Contest is, of course, a natural plug for you. Store should be willing to give a nice merchandise prize for the best construction job, and you can make a lobby display of the five best.
