Musicals Into Six-Day Paper Break

If You Can Rectify Error
By the Contest Editor
Here was one thut had me bothered.
If you remember, I’ve offered you Movie Fans free tickets to the a Se ee Theatre to see Dick Powell and an all star cast in the First National Production ‘‘Gold Diggers of 1935’? for telling what’s wrong about the six pictures I received when I was going to illustrate a special article I had written about Dick, who was an obscure master of ceremonies in a Pittsburgh motion picture theatre one year, and a famous movie singing star the next.
I could figure out the mistakes in the photographs I showed you yesterday and the day before easily enough.
What about this one?
I’m showing it here, just as I received it, except that I’ve printed below the picture the ‘‘caption’’ that was written across the back of the original.
See if you can help me out.
This is the third messed up scene I’ve published. One will appear daily for the next three days.
I think you’ll have a lot of fun working out the contest. But you’ll have a great deal more if you win, for ‘‘Gold Diggers of 1935’’ is one of the funniest and most tuneful of all the Warner Bros, musicals. It has hundreds of beautiful dancing girls led by the dance team of Ramon and Rosita.

It’s a great show. Laughs, romance, startling spectacles, thrilling dances, everything. Just look at the cast:
Dick Powell, Adolphe Menjou,
Scene shown here is from “Gold Diggers of 1935,” directed by Busby Berkeley. The picture combines loads of comedy and music. Song numbers featured are “The Gold Diggers Song,” “The Words Are In My Heart,” “Broadway Melody” and “I’m Going Shoppin’ With
You.”
This is Powell’s seventh screen appearance; his first was
“King’s Vacation.”
Of course, you’re not familiar with the scenes of that musical, but if you’ll think a moment you’ll discover what’s wrong with the picture shown here as the final contest in a series of six. Read the caption under the picture. Is anything wrong there?
When you solve this, send in your answers to all six, telling
Gloria Stuart, Alice Brady, Glenda Farrell, Frank McHugh, Hugh Herbert, Joseph Cawthorn, Grant
Mitchell, Dorothy Dare, Winifred Shaw and a score of others.
I’m glad to be able to offer sucht
a treat to my contest fans.
There’s still a chance to win, even if you are only starting now. Everyone who gets a correct list. in on time gets the tickets.
