Mats have been prepared so that the exhibitor who prefers to run a picture serialization need only cut each mat in half in the space provided for this purpose, leaving five sets of two stills, each set being three columns wide. UNUSUAL 5-DAY CONTEST ALSO (Lead-Off Story) Make Pictures Tell Film Story And Win Prize It’s open season for contests again and Film Fans should renew their licenses immediately in order not to miss a chance to “hag” a pair of guest tickets to the Theatre by entering the test of ingenuity which begins in the unique (newspaper) tomorrow. The Contest Editor recently received a shipment of ten pictures from the First National studios—secenes from Cosmopolitan production “Green Light,” starring Errol Flynn and Anita Louise which comes to the. . Theatre on... ... Placed in their proper order these pictures tell the complete story of the film, and it was the newspaper’s original intention to use them for that purpose. But something happened. The Contest Editor saw the pictures, mixed them up and announced that instead of putting the pictures in their right order, he would let the readers figure that out for themselves. Thus a contest was born. Starting tomorrow and continuing for five days the (newspaper) will publish the pictures—two each day—and Film Fans will be given an opportunity to rearrange them and as rewards of merit, the.. (newspaper) will give two pairs of tickets to each of the first twenty-five entrants with the nearest correct answers, entitling them to see “Green Light,” a romantic drama that everybody will enjoy. The caption under each set will tell part of the story, the idea is to match the pictures to the captions. To make things even easier in this already easy enough contest, the story will be told in its proper continuity — all you need worry about is rearranging the pictures. Put the pictures that appear tomorrow in a safe place, and it is only after you have collected all ten pictures at the end of the fifth day that your reconstruction work begins. (1st Day Contest) The wealthy Mrs. Dexter lies near death in the hospital of which she is one of the most active patronesses. In the absence of her doctor, Bruce Endicott who has been called away to protect his stock market investments, Dr. Newell Paige, his protege, decides to delay her operation no longer. In the midst of the operation, Endicott returns, takes Paige’s place, but his unsteadiness due mainly to the fact that he has lost his life savings, causes a slip of the knife, and Mrs. Dexter dies. Francis Ogilvie, chief surgical nurse and very much in love with Paige, threatens to tell the truth, but is silenced by Paige. Start now, Movie Fans, to qualify as winners in the new and unusual contest that opens today in the ; (newspaper). All you have to do—just this minute—is to clip the above pictures from ‘‘Green Light’’ and the story under them, and lay them carefully aside. Another set will be published tomorrow, and daily thereafter until five sets have appeared. The idea is that the scenes from “Green Light” have been purposely misarranged, and do RULES (1)—Read the story carefully and then rearrange the scenes in their proper continuity. No replies should be submitted until the entire set has appeared. (2)—All replies should be sent to the “Green Light” Con test Editor of the. (newspaper) __ (date). (3)—AIl that need appear on your answer slips are the numbers of the scenes. (4)—Prizes will be two tickets to the a Theatre to see “Green Light” to the best 25 answers. (2nd Day Publicity) Rearrange Jumbled Scenes ‘Green Light’ Contest Has And Win Theatre Tickets Approval of Movie Fans Here are two more scenes from the Cosmopolitan-First National thrilling picturization of the Lloyd Douglas bestseller, ‘‘Green Light,’’ which comes to the................ Theatre on (date). Like the two scenes which ap peared in yesterday’s issue they are not properly captioned. This is all part of the five day contest the................ (newspaper) is conducting, and the winners of which will win a pair of tickets to ‘‘Green Light.”’ We are asking contestants to cut out the illustrations and the parts of the film’s synopsis that appear each day—put them aside —and when the fifth set has appeared, unscramble the pictures you have saved, put them in their right order, so that they tell a complete story. The scenes have been numbered for your convenience so all you need do is send in the numbers properly arranged to the “Green Light” Contest Editor of the . (newspaper). The best twenty-five answers will each win two tickets to the..... er Theatre for any performance of “Green Light.” Faithfully and reverently translated to the sereen, “Green Light” retains all the romance and drama of the book. Costarred are Errol Flynn, dashing star of “The Charge of the Light Brigade,” and Anita Louise, who performed so brilliantly in “Anthony Adverse.” Among the supporting players are Margaret Lindsay, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Walter Abel and Henry O’Neill. (2nd Day Contest) Match Scenes To Story For days Paige waits for Endicott to inform hospital authorities of the true cause of Mrs. Dexter’s death, but the great surgeon remains silent. Finally Paige, by Endicott’s and his own silence, is convicted in the eyes of hospital authorities, and he is forced to resign. A distraught Francis seeks the advice of Dean Harcourt of Trinity Cathedral, whose sermons and beautiful philosophy have brought thousands to him for comfort. The Dean is visited on the same by Phyllis Dexter, for whose mother he had held great affection and the two girls become fast friends.
