Cover Stadiums From All Possible Angles If there are any football games being played make sure you cover them thoroughly. Gag used by one exhibitor last year with great success was idea of tying balloons on banner and sending it over playing field. If you’re using a sound truck get it at entrance of stadium. Another angle is to have some men wave a big banner carrying copy “THERE’S HAPPINESS AHEAD” immediately after local team makes a score. If your connections at local school are strong try to get student spectators to sing a special parody tying up the football game, to the tune of HAPPINESS AHEAD. Heralds and other throwaways should of course be included in your stadium campaign. Happy Dialogue Lines Here are nine dialogue lines that catch the spirit of this happy picture. Action stills illustrate each line. Make a display of the stills with the accompanying line for your front or lobby. They’re swell for blowup puposes. Instead of speaking directly to the party called and plugging picture, she speaks as if to a girl friend raving about the great show at the Strand, ‘‘Happiness Ahead,’’ and advising her to see it etc. When the listener-in can catch breath and ask what number your girl is calling, girl gives another number and begs pardon for getting wrong connection. But in the meantime, person called gets an earful of theatre’s plug without realizing gag. Order from: M.
