The old Ford, with top missing, paint gone, fenders dented and covered with ‘‘ wise cracks’’ is an institution among high school and college students, and is often considered a greater claim to fame than a scholarship, in the opinion of LeRoy. The Ford used in ‘Harold Teen’’ is the property of a fraternity at Southern California University, in Los Angeles, and was loaned for the picture by its owners. **No bright and shiny new Ford will ever occupy the place in the hearts of the students that this wreck does,’’ LeRoy declared.
