PROLOGUE—Get music-lovers interested in honoring the memory of America’s Beloved Composer, Victor Herbert and at the same time furthering your campaign for “Kiss Me Again” by getting amateur musicians to compete for the most delightful rendering of songs and musical selections from “Kiss Me Again”’—which is the gorgeous screen version of Mr. Herbert’s favorite, “Mile Modiste.” The contest to decide which presentation is the most delightful, will be given on your stage, teachers of music, or prominent music-lovers to act as judges. The songs may be given as solos, or with several voices or they may be instrumental. Orchestrations and various arrangements may be had from M. At a recent successful working out of the scheme, a local radio house provided the barrel (duly lettered with the radio shop’s own ad) in which the coupons were placed, and from which a small child picked the winning numbers. In the newspaper story introducing the e-test ask that the contestants explain why such songs as “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,” “Kiss Me Again,” “Slumber On My Little Gypsy Sweetheart,” “Joyland, Toyland, Little Girl and Boyland” continue to grow in favor while songs by the thousand come and go.
