As befits a President of the United States, Polly Bergen—who portrays the first woman Chief Executive in 'KISSES FOR MY PRESIDENT'—was given a ceremonial tour of New York City. Under Warner Bros. auspices, the star received testimonials of various sorts from the people of New York, met with the press corps at a news-conference, was sworn into office and greeted groups of her supporters. The photos on this page show some of the events connected with her appearance. She was also interviewed by Mike Wallace and Dave Garroway for CBS, Monitor and Mimi Benzell for NBC, Arlene Francis and Joe Franklin for WOR,
Earl Wilson for the N. Y. Post, Wanda Hale for the N. Y. Daily News and Joan O'Sullivan for King
Features.
The Polly Bergen tour in New York can serve as a format for exhibitors showing 'KISSES FOR MY PRESIDENT’ who plan to exploit the picture on a local level. One or more important women in town — preferably those holding some office which would entitle them to be called ‘Madame President''—could be taken through a_ similar public relations publicity appearance program which would benefit them as well as the picture. The stunts involving Polly Bergen can be duplicated in each community, and local television-radio
newspaper coverage can also be arranged.
To increase the sight-values of the promotion, don't forget to utilize the sock set of 'KISSES' campaign posters described on Page 5. Additional display material, slanted to the special needs
of each situation, can be made up in the sign-shop.
