After lapse of ten minutes, rest of sketch was unwound with real solution presented. You might do the same thing on this film with variations, As customers. walk in lobby, sign tells em to take a slip of paper... instructions to follow. After film is half unreeled, house is lit up, speaker comes out
‘and challenges audience to write down name of murderer and motive for crime.
After slips are collected by ushers, rest of film is reeled. Ten winners receive ducats for the next attraction.

It shouldn’t cost you much to hire one of the local dialecticians whose forte is typical London English. Dress him in an exaggerated Bond Street outfit complete with monocle and have him spiel out front. His burlesque on the British manner of speaking should attract attention to your show.

If you rate with local distribution chief, he might let you slip show’s heralds in all mystery story magazines that he handles. If no can do... . perhaps magazine stands will go for it in return for couple ducats.

You could introduce trailer by having a fellow dressed in top hat and tails step on stage and talk about the coming attraction. Suddenly house lights go off. .

An effective time to spot your air announcements would be after the thriller shows. Some of the programs are ‘Gang Busters,” ‘‘The Shadow,”’ ‘‘G-Men Tales,” ‘Warden Lawes’”’ and others of this type. No need telling you that listeners are still in a mystery mood and receptive to your message.
Giant. Phone In Lobby
One of the clues in the film concerns a telephone call made to a dead man. Here’s your cue to hop down to the phone company and see if they'll lend you giant telephone—the type_used for display.purposes. Set it up as lobby display with copy reading: “How Can a Dead Man Answer a Telephone? If You Can Answer That You Can Solve the Baffling ‘Murder by an Aristocrat’.” If you can’t borrow phone... have artist make one from compo board.
Jack Up Reward Pastors
