A vivid color note was introduced in a costume consisting of tan breeches, and a mannish shirt with a round neck light weight sweater in pale biege. There was an informal evening frock of printed chiffon with sleeves, for I hoped there would be a dance or two. There were also two knitted sport frocks because I knew I would be able to get in a few games of tennis. “Numbered Men,” in which she is featured with Conrad Nagel and Raymond Hackett, is her latest. After going to high school he decided to become an actor, and got his first opportunity with a regular stock company at $8 a week. The company played in the mining towns of the Mother Lode district, where the theatres still had kerosine footlights. Later he became an important actor in San Francisco, eventually graduating to the Belasco ranks in New York. 40th Talking Character Role William Holden, the well known character actor who takes the role of the warden in “Numbered Men,” now at the Theatre, has played forty screen roles since the advent of talking motion pictures.
