It is caused by the fact that nearly everyone in the community in studying tap dancing under the tutelage of Ruby Keeler, famous film star, whose lessons are appearing an: thers 20250: (newspaper).
Miss Keeler, who gained fame on the stage as a tap dancer before she became a film star, is considered one of the best ‘‘hoofers’’ in Hollywood. Yet she insists that tap dancing is easy to learn if one has the patience to practice and master the 12 simple steps she has devised for the routine of her ‘‘Shipmates Hop,’’ which she is teaching’to ..........c.ecseeeee (newspaper) readers.
Miss Keeler, who is co-starring with Dick Powell in ‘‘Shipmates Forever,’’? now showing at {the seein Theatre, does some exceptionally fine dancing in her role of a night club dancer in the film.
The first lesson was published yesterday, and the final one will appear tomorrow.
Don’t try to learn .one lesson in one day, Miss Keeler advises. It takes time and patience to learn to tap dance, but the results surprise one.
‘¢All tap dancing is a modification of certain essential steps,’’ Miss Keeler says. ‘‘These are included in my lessons. Of course, when one knows these 12 steps they can be used in many different routines.
‘‘T strongly advise practicing in front of a mirror,’’ Miss Keeler continued. ‘‘Take it easy, and slowly at first. Speed will come with practice.’’
