THE STORY OF THE PLAY
Harry, and her daughter, Jennie.
ROWDS of pleasure seekers parade through the amusement park. The street leading from the boardwalk is te called the Midway. At the end of it is the busiest concession of all, the penny arcade, by Ma Delano, who utilizes the

While Jennie is visiting the various stands in search of small change for the arcade, Mitch McKane, owner
of the Palace of Joy, a combination honky-tonk and speakeasy, annoys her.
Mitch as a barker, interferes.
There is an argument and Angel quits his job. Ma Delano,
gives Angel a job at the penny arcade. ee Harry Delano is employed by Mitch McKane to help run the speakeasy, though Ma Delano is not aware
of this fact.
After an all night session at the speakeasy, Harry sneaks up to his room above. the arcade.
Angel Harrigan, who is working for —

Delano accuses him of staying out all night with Myrtle, a blonde of questionable character, who works in the

The Midway is deserted, and as he walks past the penny pitc and accosts him. They speak in loud tones and awaken Jennie, time to see Harry draw a revolver and shoot Mitch. Harry drags Angel, who is just returning from his search for Harry, the noise was an automobile backfire.
The next morning, Buck Rogers, who runs the penny pitch, discovers Mitch’s body.

the penny arcade. They find the incriminating pistol in Angel’s grip and coupled with Angel’s conversation with the policeman about the backfire, the evidence is overwhelming.
As the police lead Angel away, Jennie, frantic at losing him, breaks down and tells what she witnessed through the window. They release Angel and place Harry under arrest.
Ma Delano forgives Jennie for telling and asks that she and Angel stay with her at the arcade. Jennie are overjoyed with Ma Delano’s blessing. But Ma whom she loves best because he needs her most.
