It was while filming a love scene between Grant Withers and Evalyn Knapp, who play the featured roles, that the mixer discovered he had locked himself in his small booth with a hornet! The cameras were turning over and the players were speaking their lines. The mixer, with the angry insect circling dangerously near to his head, could not take either hand from the dials without spoiling the scene. Near the end of it the infuriated beast sat down on the mixer’s neck—and did just the thing ;any well organized hornet would do. But the mixer’s hands did not leave the dials. It would have cost hundreds of dollars if they had. Direetor John Adolfi dubbed him “the man of the hour,” and suggested that he be given a lead medal or a hand engraved microphone, but the | mixer only asked for more ointment and a new bandage. “Sinners’ Holiday” was adapted for the screen by Harvey Thew.
