It centers about the life of a worker of the Travelers Aid, who thinks only in the terms of humanity. She is in love with a hard boiled engineer who is building the largest bridge in the world, and who considers human beings only as cogs in an industrial machine. The clash of characters is the strongest point in the _ story, although the action at times is fast and as thrilling as the wildest melodrama. Kay Francis in the role of the Travelers Aid worker gives one of her greatest screen characterizations. George Brent is excellent as the unyielding engineer.
