LETTER TO YOUR PATRONS
An impressive and inexpensive way to inform your patrons of your Clue Club plans. Here’s the form we suggest — any local aspects can be added with little trouble.
THE STRAND THEATRE
SOMETOWN, N. Y.
January 15, 1934
Mr. John Smith, 1001 Arabian St., Sometown, N. Y.
Dear Mr. Smith:s—
As a patron of the Strand Theatre, I feel you will be interested in this:
A local branch of The Clue Club, a national association formed
solely for the enjoyment of those interested in mystery fiction and mystery motion pictures, is now being organized. The first meeting wiki be held in the Strand Theatre at ~cosccsee Pe Me,
on eee@eseeee
The Clue Club will select the outstanding mystery pictures; members will be given the opportunity to join with other mystery fans in periodic meetings, each of which will be of unusual interest. They will also be eligible to participate in the Black Mask Magazine contest, in which 4 trips to Bermuda and cash prizes will be awarded. In addition, members will be asked for suggestions to aid in the solution of local crimes. A special section in the Strand Theatre orchestra will be set aside for members at every Clue Club showing, and a number of social features are also being planned.
The Clue Club has no dues and entails no obligations on its members—except to enjoy themselves.
The program of activities is now being arranged. The entertainment will be varied and unique, and I believe you will thoroughly enjoy the first meeting.
May I have the pleasure of proposing your name as one of the charter members of the Clue Club? I shall be glad to discuss personally any factors not made perfectly clear here.
Sincerely yours, Manager. Strand Theatre
