$10,000 IN CASH PRIZES ship with showman SAV El with showmanship howmanship SEPT. 5th PROFIT TO DEC. 3rd 1955 HONOURING 25 YEARS OF INSPIRED LEADERSHIP IN FAMOUS PLAYERS BOND APPLICATIONS National Drive Captain DAN KRENDEL Every position of trust in a theatre ... manager, assistant, doorman, cashier etc. is automatically bonded by our Insurance department, It is still necessary however that every new employee in the above classifications be requested to fill out and sign a regular bond application form. This form MUST BE forwarded to Mr. R. G. Darby, preferably BEFORE the employee commences his or her duties. This procedure has not been followed quite as closely as it should be, in recent years ... and this is just a reminder that the rules have not been changed, It's designed for YOUR PROTECTION, fellows, and helps to impress your new employees, too, If you haven't been following this practice, now is as good a time as any to requisition a guantity of bond application forms from our insurance department ... and make a habit of using them, oXeXeXeoKe SAVING STATIONERY Last week two good suggestions were received in regard to making substantial savings through the proper use of envelopes. A small item? I agree ... but the saving can be a very substantial one if adopted by all of our theatres. I was in a theatre one day, watching the manager laying out his newspaper ads, I watched and did a slow burn ... and said nothing until he was through. Then I blasted him. He pasted two, three and at times four sheets of good bond letterheads together, and wrote his copy on them ... If it didn't look so good ... into the basket, and the same routine all over again. Those letterheads must have cost at least $15.00 per thousand ... but of course he didn't pay for them ... the theatre did. He didn't know that the newspaper will supply copy paper on request, for the express purpose of laying out ads. He does now. Please fellows ... let's use our heads ... we're trying to save money, yet we can't see waste right under our own noses. Your stationery costs a lot of money in a year ... Order only what you need ... and use it for the purpose it was designed.
