It would be interesting to see what would happfen to the "little mother of them all" if she had a baby of her own. Children adore her — and Marie, of course, loves them all passionately. Joan Banks brought her five-yearold daughter, Judith, to see the broadcast one evening. Marie was a pink and gold dream that night in a salmon satin blouse, and a light wool skirt of the same color, her blond hair falling in thick waves to her shoulders. Judith was enchanted. "I know, Mommie," she told Joan, "that fairy princesses are just pretend, but Mommie, if there were fairy princesses they would look like Marie."
