Headliners of the Week
MAJOR S. L. Rothafel (Roxy) will be the guest Saturday night of the Sojourner's club banquet, which will be broadcast by WEAF and its chain of stations. Roxy's speech will be given in the best Roxy style and the whole banquet therefore promises to be worthwhile even though you cannot actually take part.
WKRC, the new Kodel Radio Corporation station at Cincinnati, will send Mothers' Day greetings via Radio for fans who are far away from home. Any son or daughter may request this station to sing his or her mother's favorite song. These tender messages will be sent out between 11 and 12 Sunday night.
The Henderson-Brown college of Arkadelphia will give an interesting program of popular classical selections Monday night at KTHS. This little college has done much to distinguish itself in the musical world. The famous Jewish singing society of Cleveland, directed by Charles DeHarrach, will also be heard this evening over the microphone of WTAM, Cleveland.
A Scotch program as burry in its accents as anything given in old Scotland will be the Tuesday feature of KFI, Los Angeles, and to prove that the real Scotch flavor will be
there, Jock McGrip, comedian; Andrew MacTarvish, piper, and Mary McNabb, contralto, are the principal entertainers.
Martial strains played by one of the best bands in the Northwest will startle the peaceful air about KGW, Portland, Wednesday, when the Seventh U. S. infantry band visits the station. The 7:30 p. m. program at WHO this same evening promises to be above the usual. The La Boheme trio, a Des Moines organization, and the American Legion Banjo club will furnish the entertainment.
"Baby Mine," a snappy farce comedy in three acts, is the dramatic offering of the KGO players this week. Reserve your seats early for Thursday night. How would you feel to be a student and have your best papers read to several million people instead of hearing these read before twenty or thirty persons in a small classroom.
