ALTHOUGH some stations will be A\ silent Saturday, there will be ■*• ■* many special Memorial Day programs. WIP schedules a program by the Stern Price Post 417, American Legion. Two exciting events will be broadcast Saturday afternoon, the Yale-Princeton baseball game from WJZ and WGY and the Indianapolis auto races over WGN.
This is Shrine week for Los Angeles and KHJ is the official Shrine station. A welcome program will be given Sunday night, directed by J. Howard Johnson. Tune in and listen to this program intended for the ears of Shriners approaching in special Radio-equipped trains.
WLW again broadcasts Monday concerts from the Zoo. Last Monday was the opening program. These concerts were much enjoyed last summer'and promise to be popular this year. The "F and R Family," composed of orchestras and headliners of the State theater, will be back on the air again tonight from WCCO. "Matter-of-Fact Eddie" Dunstedter plays the pipe organ.
The Davis Schbol of Music will give the 6:30 p. m. program at WFAA this Tuesday. These programs are always given by the star pupils and faculty of this school and are always among the best programs of the month.
Many stations are helping fans to choose their vacation trips. Tuesday CKAC is giving a talk on Quebec's most attractive points and Wednesday WBZ is pointing out the recreational attractions of New England. These talks will be instructive to the "an who wishes to travel East this summer.
The U. S. Marine band has become a summer attraction at WRC on Thursdays and therefore at WJZ, WGY and WBZ. This band has a national reputation, gained through broadcasting.
Louis Joseph Vance has a wide circle of readers who will be glad to know that they may hear him talk Friday at WEAF. He will discuss the trials and tribulations of being an author and will give many valuable hints to young authors.
