Kintner was elected to his present post as President of NBC on July 11, 1958, after having served as executive vice president, television network, since February, 1958. He joined NBC Jan. 1, 1957, as an executive vice president and the following month was named executive vice president, television network programs and sales. Kintner, a former president of ABC, joined the editorial staff of the New York Herald Tribune following his graduation from Swarthmore College. He became Washington correspondent for that newspaper and later, with Joseph Alsop, wrote a nationally syndicated Washington column. He also coauthored several magazine articles and books. In 1941 he joined the Army, serving overseas and with the War Department Bureau of Public Relations in Washington. He joined ABC in 1944 as vice president with supervision of programming, public services, public relations and advertising. In 1946 he was elected executive vice president and in 1949 became president. He resigned in October, 1956. ►####*###*#######*♦####*## DAVID C. ADAMS Senior Executive Vice President David C. Adams was elected to the new position of senior executive vice president on February 6, 1959. Since September, 1956, he had been executive vice president, corporate relations. Mr. Adams joined NBC in December, 1947, as assistant general counsel. He was named vice president and general attorney of RCA Communications, Inc., in 1948, but returned to NBC in January, 1949, as assistant to the executive vice president. He was elected a vice president in February, 1953, and the next year was named a staff vice president. Before joining NBC, Mr. Adams was with the FCC, serving successively as chief of the International Legal Section of the Common Carrier Division, assist? nt chief of the Common Carrier Division and assistant to the general counsel. In 1943 he joined the Army, serving first with an anti-aircraft battalion and later with Military Intelligence. Adams was born in Buffalo and was graduated from the University of Buffalo and its law school (1937). He practiced law in Buffalo prior to joining the FCC. WALTER D. SCOTT Executive Vice President, Television Network Walter D. Scott was appointed executive vice president, television network, in February, 1959. Before his election as head of the television network, Mr. Scott had been vice president, television network sales. An executive with more than :0 years service in NBC, Mr. Scott joined the network's sales department in t938. He was named eastern sales manager in 1949, and in February, 195J. was promoted to New York radio network sales manager. In November, 1952, he was appointed to the new post of administrative sales manager. He held this position jntil he was elected vice president and national sales manager, television network, in December, 1955. He was named vice president, television network sales, in January, 1958. Before joining NBC, Mr. Scott served in the sales department of Hearst Radio, Inc., and before that on the advertising staff of the Daily Oklahoman and Times. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Jourralism. 797
