WHOZIT — the newest thing in Radio, the most amazing and fascinating diversion ever presented to the listener. It's a game. Everybody can play. Everybody will play it. So simple and yet so mysterious that it is bound to be the Radio craze of the year. Listen! Look! Cut! . That's the big trick. Simple If You're Wide Awake There is nothing technical about it — ■ just be a good listener and keep your eyes open. It's a great big game, rather a series of games, with you on one side of the table and your favorite broadcast station artists on the other. These stations are scattered across the continent so that every territory has a chance to join in. Suddenly from your loud speaker you hear a familiar voice, or the voice tells its owner's name. You take your sharply pointed pencil from between your teeth and the game is on. Mr. Artist begins to "Whozitate," which means that he begins to call "tag" by describing one of the segments in one of the Whozit faces that belongs to him. Right there at the top of the very first picture you spot what he is talking about when he describes a "gink with the top of his forehead resembling the large end of a hard-boiled egg." (See example at bottom of page.) Artists Tell You All on Air "But," says he, "except for the fairly luxurious crop of black hair encircling the upper circumference, that is as far as I go. The rest of that Whozit has other entitlements not endowed by me. However, roaming crosswise of the page and settling down somewhat more to the right than to the left I perceive my own blinkers under fairly high arched brows with the lids coming down more than ordinarily heavy over the irises, which seem to be gray rather than black. There's a heavy shadow along the side of my nose. Tag! My mouth — Oh, that's a dead give-away. The cutting line comes just under my lower lip, and the upper one is parted in the middle — not another like it on the whole page. Tag. "Now the rest of me so far as the picture goes is quite simple. The gates ajar have a very narrow threshold of a tie and there is a slight shadow on my (not your) right side. Tag." Twenty-six Thousand Dollars ($26,000.00) in pnzss will be awarded to the successful contenders in the great popular GAME OF WHOZIT. Twenty-four leading broadcasting stations will co-operate with this magazine in this great undertaking. The contest will start with the November 15 issue of Radio Digest and will continue for eight issues, to and including the March first issue, and ends' officially midnight March 15, 1927. The purpose of the fascinating GAME OF WHOZIT is to give Radio Digest readers an interesting Winter diversion and to familiarize them with the faces of their favorite announcers and artists at twenty-four prominent broadcasting stations. At the same time it will furnish them with an opportunity to compete for a share of the Twenty-Six Thousand Dollars in prizes. How to Try for Prize Beginning with the November 15 issue Radio Digest will publish for eight issues forty-eight composite photographs of artists and announcers, or two each issue from each of the twenty-four participating broadcasting stations. Each photograph will be intersected with white lines showing the forehead of one artist, the eyes of another, the nose and mouth of a third and the chin and neck of a fourth. Each segment of every composite photograph will bear a number. All that will be necessary for a reader to do to play the fascinating Game of Whozit and participate for a prize will be to assemble correctly and neatly each issue for eight issues the segments of two portraits from a favorite broadcasting station which is participating. Each station will aid yo.u by giving you over the air or in person hints that will enable you to identify and correctly assemble the segments of their pictures. Identifying Solved Whozits At the end of the contest send your solution of the portraits to Radio Digest accompanying each solved portrait with an identification of at least ten words which must include five or more facts about the person whose portrait it is. The Game of Whpzit is free. It is not necessary to be a subscriber or newsstand buyer of Radio Digest to compete. Tracings of the pictures may be made at the offices of Radio Digest in Chicago or New York, public libraries or at the offices of the participating broadcasting stations. These with proper identifications may be submitted in place of the published photogaphs. General information helpful to the solution of the game may be obtained at any of the stations.
