Blanche Da Costa, protege of Mine. Schumann Heink, and former New York Civic opera lyric soprano, will delight KOA listeners in a concert program Monday night, November 22. Mme. Da Costa will tell of her experiences with Schumann Heink and sing the favorite songs of the nationally loved artist. The City of Balimore set a precedent the other day when it appropriated a special fund for broadcasting a series of winter concerts by Baltimore's municipal band over W.BAL. Fans who enjoyed the sum mer concerts of this organization will be glad to know that these concerts are to be continued every Tuesday night from 10-11 p. m. Tuesday evenings a course of lectures is being given at WEEI which will interest parents planning to send their young folks away to college. The presidents of the larger New England colleges and universities will give practical talks about preparing for university life. November 16. Charles A. Plumeley of Norwich speaks; Tuesday, November 30. Kenneth M. Sills of Bowdoin; November 30, Paul D. Moody of Middlebury. For some reason all the headlim-r.s seem to fall on Tuesday this last half of the month. Tuesday, November 1G, Yale University band gives a program of songs of old EH at WTIC, at 7:30 p. m. The Yale band was organized in 1918 when Yale turned over all buildings and equipment to the U. S. government. Music lovers within the range of WTAM, Cleveland, will enjoy the Thanksgiving program at this station. James H. Rogers will give an evening of his own compositions. Although many of his numbers are based on bits of poetry, Mr. Rogers is probably at his best as a composer of sacred music.
