It wasn't a likely day to be visiting the Red Foleys. Red wasn't feeling right pert, he'd said. Looked sort of homesick in the pine-paneled den of his own home. The French doors were thrown wide open, giving a view of the garden alive with jonquils and iris and tulips. Red bud and dogwood trees were in full bloom. The swimming pool shone with sparkling clean water. The deck furnitiu-e, which Red had lugged up from the basement, was piled up every -which way, waiting to be set in place.
