During the years when you are growing up, you are always trying to make yourself into the kind of person you know you can be, whether you put this thought into words or whether it's just a feeling you have, deep down in your heart. Jan, I said, there seem to be three things that are wrong. You can do something about each one of them; in fact, you are the only one who can. First: Freckles! Every summer you bake in the sun without a hat and then you are miserable because you freckle. (I had red hair, since darkened to auburn, and the light skin that goes with reddish hair.) Second: Fingernails! You bite them dreadfully.
