We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) during our scanning and processing workflow to make the content of each page searchable. You can view the automatically generated text below as well as copy and paste individual pieces of text to quote in your own work.

Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

AT THE BRASS RAIL IN GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA Photos by George S. Fletcher Pete Daily, the cornetist from Hammond, Indiana, who has always been associated with the Chicago style, is just now beoinning to get the recognition his talent deserves. Pete's career has always been interrupted by tough breaks of every description. For the first time in years, he is happy and optimistic. He has a good band and business is fine at the Brass Rail. The clarinet player is Rosie McHargue, who has been doing radio work in Hollywood for several years. Rosie is the clarinetist you heard on those famous McPartland sides issued by HRS in the thirties. Many of the tunes featured by Daily's band are arranged by Rosie. Warren Smith, heard on many Bob Crosby Bobcat records, is on trombone.
