RIVERSIDE RECORDS HAS ACQUIRED THE RIGHTS TO THE ENTIRE CATALOGUE OF ISSUED AND UNISSUED CIRCLE RECORDS is pleased to announce the addition to its present stockpile of important jazz material of all recordings on the foremost recent traditional jazz label. Circle, during its seven years of activity, recorded the work of a great number of major jazz artists, much of which is currently unavailable. In addition, the Circle property includes all of the celebrated "This is Jazz" Rudi Blesh Radio broadcasts — many of which have never been released on records; the priceless Jelly Roll Morton Library of Congress documentary series — including some recordings never released ; the fabulous Solo-Art series of recordings by the great barrelhouse piano players: Jimmy Yancey, Cripple Clarence Lofton, Meade Lux Lewis and others. At least two dozen SoloArt masters by Lofton and Yancey have never been released, and were until recently believed lost. Riverside can now add these and many other Circle masters to the Paramount, Gennett, Champion, early Piano Roll material now in our possession. As with this other body of highly important, historic jazz, we will begin almost immediately to issue long playing records of Circle's significant contributions to jazz.
