TAPE POOL The Nixon -KKhrushchev Debate; SPECIAL July 25, Sat, 11-11 :15pm NYT, all nets TAPE, to the nets. 5 Each network transmitted a copy of the tape record¬ ing made in Moscow at the RCA exhibit at the American National Exhibition in Mos¬ cow, when Vice President Richard M. Nixon and Soviet Premier Nikita S. Khrushchev engaged in a frank exchange of opinions in front of a color TV camera. The Ampex Corp flew the tape to the U. S. and made copies for the nets. Each net had the Soviet Premier’s remarks translated and these translations were read by corres¬ pondents over the Soviet Premier’s voice. Each of the networks then presented the tape again in special Sunday programs, with added commentary: ABC’s special Sunday program, July 26, was 3-3 :30pm NYT with commentary by Don Goddard. The CBS Sunday special was at 5-5 :30pm NYT, with commentary by Walter Cronkite and Witman Vassow. The NBC special was at 7-7 :30pm NYT, Sunday, with commentary by Frank McGee, David Brinkley and Frank Bourgholtzer .
