"Not having much wanted to be in pictures in the first place," she said, "I must admit that I am now a great ham, love to act, get a thrill out of working before the cameras — but only if I think I am doing it well. I want to be an actress, you see, not a 'movie star.' I am satisfied with the progress I've made since I've been with M-G-M, I'd be a fool to feel otherwise, but I will be content only so long as I continue to make progress, and no longer.
