Ay res, owner. Norwalk, O. — it is announced that the state department has approved the plans tor tne new Schine circuit theatre to be built here on E. Main St. Galesburg, 111. — Erection of a new theatre building will be under way as soon as the structures now on the East State street site are wrecked, the owner, Kenneth F. Childs, has announced. Atlantic City. — Frank P. Gravatt, owner and operator of the Steel Pier, has announced a new motion picture theatre will be erected at the northeast corner of New York and Atlantic avenues. Marienville, Penna. — Marienville is to have a modern, movie theatre. A new building is to be constructed and the venture operated by H. A. Batastini, the owner of the Alpine theatre at Punxsutawney. Ardmore, Penna. — A community shopping center, including a 1000 seat motion picture theatre, will be erected in Westgate Hills, it was announced by representatives of the Warner-West Corp., real estate developers. East Monterey, Calif. — Plans for early construction of. a $60,000 to $80,000 theatre here, to be in operation by next spring or earlier, were announced today by Mark Keller, manager for the Monterey Theatres company which controls four of the Peninsula's five movie houses, Houston, Tex. — A new suburban theatre is to be erected on the East Montgomery Road between Joyce and Gale at a cost of more than $50,000, it was revealed when a site for the project was purchased. St. Clair Shores, Mich. — In keeping with the prosperous growth of St. Clair Shores, a new 1,000-seat, fully-modern theatre will be constructed at the corner of Nine Mile road and Mack avenue, to replace the Shores Theatre whose name it will carry on. Fayetteville, N. C. — Construction work on Fayetteville's new motion picture theatre will start within the next 30 or 40 days, W. H. Ponton, manager of the Carolina theatre, announces. It is expected that it will be completed in seven or eight months, according to the weather. Charleston, W. Va.Alex B. Childs has announced the new theatre will be called, "The Times." Tampa, Fla. — B. E. Gore, manager of Broadway Theatre Inc., today took out a building permit for $25,000 for construction of the Osborne Theatre at 4310 Nebraska Ave. Construction on another new theatre, the State, began several weeks ago. It is located at 1008 Franklin St. Bradenton, Fla. — Bradenton is soon to have a new mot'on picture theatre und"r operation of the E. J. Sparks theatre interests. Philadelrhia, N. Y. — Philadelphia will soon have a moving picture theatre. John Aug'llo, Utica, has leased the town hall for 10 years and is remodeling it into an up-to-date motion picture theatre. Hilton Village, Va. — Ground has been broken for the erection of a new theatre here. Lewiston, Idaho. — John Dirscherl and Hans Schweiter of Clarkston plan to secure a 10year lease on the Schweiter building here and remodel it for a theatre at a cost of $30,000. Moline, 111. — Work has been started today on construction of a combination theatre and store building for M. Brotman and sons at the southeast corner of Thirty-first street and Twentv-third avenue at a cost of $40,000. Ellicott City, Md.— Bids for the construction of a modern brick building at the intersection of Columbia road and the Frederick pike, in Ellicott City, to replace those damaged by fire several months ago, are now being received by I. Cincinnati, Ohio. — Plans for a theatre building and group of stores on Oakley Square at the 3000 Block on Madison Road were revealed recently with the issuance of a charter to the Oakley Corporation. Greenwood, Miss. — The Saenger Theatres, operating the Paramount Theatre here, is planning the erection of a modern play house on the Fountain property just west of Fountain's store and along Fulton street, facing West Washington street. Renovations, Openings Kenton, O.— The Ohio Theatre has closed down for extensive remodeling and improvement under terms of a lease executed by Henry J. Pfeiffer of Kenton and W. D. Ward of Detroit, Mich. Milledgeville, Ga. — The Campus Theatre is having its face lifted. Work of repainting and renovating the lobby of the theatre has begun under the direction of Ben Rivers, staff artist, Mrs. F. D. Adams, manager, announced yesterday. Winchester, Ky. — S. D. Lee, president of the Winchester Amusement company, was granted a permit by the city commission to remodel a North Main street building for use as a theatre. Probable cost was listed as $6,000. Warren, Ohio. — Preliminary work on moving back the Ohio Theatre building seven feet is under way a representative of the Detroit Underpinning Co., which has the contract for the work, has announced.
