Sweep or vacuum. • Aisle lights should be checked carefully. • Floor between carpet edge and seat line should be wiped with damp cloth ; seats should be turned up each night and aisles swept. • Seats should be turned up each night and aisles mopped. • Baseboards, wainscoat mouldings should be wiped off with damp cloth. • Inspect wall bracket lights. • Metal fittings (all) on landing and back wall should be polished. • Wipe oi¥ door facings with damp cloth. • Examine the front or first row seat rail for looseness, bad connections, etc. Polish rail and wipe off under shelf with damp cloth. • If drapes of tapestries are used these should be brushed. • Check exit lights ; check panic bolts on exit doors ; wipe ofif door facings ; check to be certain that nothing obstructs passages to exit doors. Weekly ' • Bulbs and socket connections examined. • Floor between carpet edge and seat line should be mopped. • Baseboards, wainscoat mouldings should be washed. • Check bulb and socket and extension cords, if any, for dirty or loose connections. • Clean bulbs and shades. • Polish all metal fittings. • Wipe off displays, picture frames, etc. • If drapes or tapestries are used these should be vacuumed. • Examine bulbs and connections. Polish metal. Monthly • Floor between carpet edge and seat line should be scrubbed. • Seats should be cleaned of gum and thoroughly inspected. • Border moulding should be wiped off. • Wash glass and polish frames. Semi-Annually • Reverse aisle or stair carpets to equalize wear. • Floor between carpet edge and seat line should be repainted. • Floor of seating sections should be repainted. • Border moulding should be washed off. • If drapes or tapestries are used these should be cleaned. Stairs and Mezzanine Daily • Examine stair carpet for seam rips, tears, worn places, bulging or looseness. Correct any fault at once. Sweep or vacuum. • Polish all metal stripping, edging, kick plates, etc. ; Wipe off bannister rail and spindles with damp cloth. Test. • Wipe baseboard, sidewalls, woodwork and wainscoat moulding with damp cloth. • See that landings and turns are well lighted. • Check display pieces on stair landings. Dust. • Floor and table lamps should be thoroughly cleaned : bulbs, shades, uprights and bases. • Wall bracket lights should be thoroughly cleaned : bulbs, shades, and metal fixtures. • All mezzanine furniture should be thoroughly vacuumed. Woodwork wiped with damp cloth ; Use stiff brush at corners. • Mezzanine carpets should be thoroughly vacuumed. • Display pieces should be dusted. • Tapestries, drapes, etc., should be dusted. • Baseboard and wainscoat ledges should be wiped with damp cloth. • Sand urns should be kept filled. Surface washed. • Wall pictures or other wall decorations should be dusted. • Areaways leading to seating sections should be lighted with well-shaded spot directed at floor and away from screen. Check. Weekly Examine stripping and kick plates for looseness. Polish off bannister rail and spindles or walls. Wipe space between carpet and stair ends with damp cloth. Wash baseboard, sidewalls, woodwork and wainscoat moulding. Examine bulb and socket connections. Inspect extension cords to landing or stair displays. Check special spot or other lighting effects. Inspect electrical connections. Examine bulb and socket connections and extension cords. Woodwork polished. Mezzanine carpet should be inspected for torn places, worn spots, seam rips, etc. • Lighting effects cleaned and examined for loose or dirty connections. • Tapestries, drapes, etc., should be vacuumed. • Baseboards and wainscoat ledges should be washed. • Glass and frames washed. • Examine bulb and socket connection. Monthly • Change position of display pieces on stair landings ; Position shifted of all mezzanine furniture ; Change positions of display pieces ; Change positions of floor lamps or table lamps. • If possible walls to wainscoat level should be washed or cleaned. • Chandeliers should be cleaned with ammonia. Semi-Annually • Reverse (top to bottom) stair carpet to equalize wear. • Mezzanine carpets should be reversed to equalize wear. • Tapestries, drapes, etc., should be cleaned.
