Plot: Two prospectors are accused of kidnapping a young girl when they're found with her bracelet in their possession. They escape and locate the girl who returns with them to help her protect her gold mine. The man engaged to the youngster's cousin is trying to steal the mine from her and that's why she ran away. With the help of the Sons of the Pioneers, the two prospectors catch the crooks and expose the fiance.
SONORA STAGECOACH (Mono.) Western. Principals: Hoot Gibson, Bob Steele, Chief Thundercloud, Rocky Camron, Bettv Miles. Director, Robert Tansey. Plot: The Trail Blazers are sent to take a prisoner from a neighboring town to Sonora to stand trial. The men guilty of the crime this man is being held for try to kill him on the way. He attains all this through conjuring humorous lies and reckless thievery with the help of two comical stooges.
THE SCARLET CLAW (Univ.) Mystery. Principals: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Paul Cavanaugh, Gertrude Astor. Director, Roy William Neill. Plot: The famous sleuth, vacationing in Canada is called in to help solve several murders believed to have been caused by a legendary monster who is terrorizing the countryside again. While searching for the monster he narrowly escapes death on the fog-shrouded marshes. By working out a clever trap, Holmes captures the beast and surprises everyone when he reveals the true identity of the killer.
MARINE RAIDERS (RKO) Drama. Principals: Pat O'Brien, Robert Ryan, Ruth Hussey, Frank McHugh, Barton MacLane. Director, Harold Schuster. Plot: A Major and his Marine Raiders stop the Japs one of those days on 'Canal. It's a tremendous fight and he ends up with a bomb splinter in his leg. Shipped to Australia he meets and is about to marry a member of the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force, when he's shipped home. Here he's put to work training marines through every phase of combat, then back to Australia with the troops. He marries the girl when he gets there, just before he leaves on an "expendable" mission.
LADY IN THE DEATH HOUSE (PRC) Drama. Principals: Jean Parker, Lionel Atwill, Marcia Mae Jones, Douglas Fowley, Robert Middlemas, Joe Devlin. Director, Steve Sekely. Plot: A young scientist takes a job as an executioner because he believes life can be restored after death. In this position he is able to help his fiancee when she is sentenced to die for the killing of a man found dead in her apartment. By locking himself in the room with the panel board of switches he stops her execution until a friend brings in the real killer.
