Roth Opens Denver*s Second Oldest Mouse After Modernization
Mike Roth reopened his completely renovated Broadway, Denver on February 15 with city and state dignitaries as guests for the big event. The Broadway first opened as a "legit" house August 18, 1890, with Emma Yuck as the star of an opera company which played 14 performances, followed by "The Old Homestead" \yhich also gave 14 shows. With this rich and glamorous past as a motif for interior decoration. Roth has named the inner lobby "The Fond Memory Room." On its walls an

artist has rendered a series of murals depicting the good old days and between the paintings are a large collection of old autographed portraits in natural wood frames of famous personalities whose careers were marked by appearances on the Broadway's stage.
Local ordinances do not permit the construction of new marquees so that the theatre's facade has been designed flat to meet this restriction. The front is covered with structural glass with the theatre name worked into the design of the facade in large neon letters. The front lobby illumination is achieved through the use of neon tube behind large frosted glass panels.
The Broadway has been equipped with magic eye drinking fountains, new seats, screen, RCA Sound System, Simplex E7 projectors. Peerless Magnarc lamps and the entire house has been air conditioned. The theatre is the second oldest in Denver and the photographs reproduced above show how attractive and inviting Roth has succeeded in making his showplace.
