Short Subject Reviews

cap. The usual fantastic, but definitely amusing accomplishments of Popeye with the help of his inevitable dose of spinach wind up the activities amid a burst of his own type of pyrotechnics. Good cartoon that should please most audiences.
Kickapoo Juice (Amusing)
Col. (6602) Lil Abner 7 mins.
Mammy Yokum determines to break up Lonesome Polecat's and Hairless Joes bachelorhood to provide a good example for Lil Abner so that he'll marry Daisy Mae. Taking away their kickapoo juice is the first step in the campaign and provides the mild laughs that result from the Technicolor cartoon. The animation lacks smoothness, otherwise this is well directed by Howard Smith.
Scrappily Married (Very Funny)
Para. (P4-4) Noveltoons No. 4 8 mins.
Herman the mouse is as tough as usual in this hilarious adventure of Henry, the henpecked rooster and his domineering frau, Sweetie Pie. Henry uses Herman to frighten the ebullient Sweetie Pie (as he scares all females) until Sweetie Pie enlists the aid of the neighborhood cat. Herman outwits the cat and winds up eating a mountain of cheese in hi^ usual nonchalant manner. Top entertainment.
