DANGEROUS PARTNERS (MGM) Mystery. Principals: James Craig, Signe Hasso, Edmund Gwenn. Director, Edward Cahn. Plot: A beautiful adventuress and a daring but not always ethical lawyer are partners in pursuit of the secret contained in four identical wills, for a million dollars each, all mysteriously naming one man as beneficiary. Despite early attempts to doublecross each other, they fall in love and decide to give up trying to collect the fortunes and go "straight," thus exposing the real crooks.

Willard Parker, Evelyn Keyes, Larry Parks. Director, George Sherman. Plot: A doctor loses his girl to a young man whose father and brothers constitute a notorious robbergang. The young sweetheart tries to go straight, but takes the rap for his brothers and is convicted of theft. He escapes, forcing the girl to go with him, and joins his brothers in their crimes. The doctor follows them, takes the girl and her baby home for protection, and then shoots it out with the bandit.
DEADLINE AT DAWN (RKO) Mystery. Principals: Bill Williams, Susan Hay ward, Paul Lukas. Director, Harold Clurman. Plot: A two-timing, blackmailing dame is found murdered. To prove his innocence, a young sailor enlists the help of a dance hall girl he met that night. A kindly cab driver joins in their efforts to trace the killer, and in the process, the sailor and the girl fall in love. As one after another of the suspects is found innocent, and the sailor is about to be arrested, the cab driver confesses to the crime.
A LETTER FOR EVIE (MGM) ComedyDrama. Principals: Marsha Hunt, Hume Cronyn, John Carroll, Pamela Britton. Director, Jules Dassin. Plot: A serious, pretty private secretary starts things humming and romance blooming, when she puts a letter in an Army shirt, destined for shipment to an Army Camp. The letter is found by a short, homely soldier, who tries desperately to keep his handsome buddy from winning the girl, and almost fails; but after they are both sent overseas, she realizes that it's the quiet little soldier she really loves.
THE BANDIT OF SHERWOOD FOREST (Col.) Color. Principals: Cornel Wilde, Anita Louise, Edgar Buchanan, Jill Esmond. Director, Henry Levin. Plot: Robin Hood and his band set out to rescue the boy-King of England, whose death is plotted by the tyrannical Regent. They succeed, but Robin Hood's son and a lady-in-waiting who helped them, are trapped in the palace and caught by the guards. The Regent challenges the young bandit to a duel after withholding food and water from his cell for days. But, thanks to the help of the lady, young Robin Hood is victorious.
THE SHANGHAI COBRA (Mono.) Mystery. Principals: Sidney Toler, Benson Pong, Mantan Moreland, Joan Barclay. Director, Phil Karlson. Plot: Charlie Chan is called in to investigate the murder of three employes of a bank, where a million dollars in Government radium is deposited. The crooks are captured and, at the same time, another old mj'stery is unraveled, freeing an innocent man who had been suspected of the crime.
ON STAGE EVERYBODY (Univ.) Comedy-Drama. Principals: Peggy Ryan, Jack Oakie, Otto Kruger. Johnny Coy, Julie London. Director, Jean Yarbrough. Plot: A father-and-daugliter song-and-dance team are out of work because of the father's refusal to accept radio contracts. He decides to retire to an Actors' Home, leaving a very unhappy girl with lier grandparents. Finally won over to radio, the father conceives a new type of ■x'w show wliich is a success.
