Showmen Outline 'Musts ^ for Red Cross Campaigns
A colorful lobby display can be built up aroimd the 30 x 40 and 40 x 60 posters. Local appeal and added punch can be developed by display of decorations awarded to some local veteran. Remember, an impressive lobby display will produce the mood that builds up to readiness, willingness and eagerness to donate to the Red Cross when the collections are made.
Check over the very workmanlike press book that has been prepared for this Red Cross campaign — it will refresh your mind on ideas and stunts you have used successfully in the past and can use to good humanitarian advantage again this time with some added new twist for the 1946 Red Cross appeaL

"staging" your Red Cross trailer with some special showmanship. Close curtains and bring up house lights to full illumination to mark a pause between the preceding screen number and the appeal trailer. Put on red and blue footlights full before opening curtains and hold them until leader of trailer reaches the screen, then kill off the reds but hold the blues until titles appear, killing off the blues as first scene comes on.
Make collections after trailer with full house lights on. Have Red Cross volunteers or house staff, whichever makes collections, well trained to time their work as precisely as possible and make the collections run off smoothly.
