Posten has taken over as manager of the Gem, Charles City, following a medical discharge after 14 months' service in the Xavy. Prior to joining the Xavy he was with Fox Midwest at Kirksville, Mo., and United Film Advertising at Kansas City. Barbara Magnusson, formerly with Warners, has joined King Enterprises as a stenographer. Neil Adair is expected to resume his civilian duties as salesman for Warners after receiving a discharge from the Armed Forces. He will resume his work after taking a 90-day rest. A flying squadron of returned veteran film salesmen together with wounded servicemen will be used to call on exhibitors in the Des Moines exchange territory in the coming Victory Loan drive. Plans for setting up the flying squadron were made at a meeting of the film salesmen to kick off a drive to enlist the aid of every exhibitor in the territory. The special group will be available to make emergency calls on exhibitors who are reluctant to participate in the coming drive. Each of the veterans will be prepared to give good reasons why the exhibitor must pledge support wholeheartedly. Presiding over the meeting was Harry M. Warren, Iowa War Activities cochairman, and speakers included A. H. Blank, state chairman ; G. Ralph Branton, WAC chairman ; Tack Kennedy, distributor chairman, and Russ Eraser, publicity chairman.
