NATIONAL BOARD OF REVIEW: Founded in 1909 "to represent the interests of the motion picture public," maintains a Review Committee consisting oi some 300 men and women of all ages, "representing a cross-section of public taste." Designations: Family — 14 years of age and up (recommendations for age groups under 14 by Schools M. P. Committee of the Board) ; Mature — 18 years and up. * — Especially worth seeing.
SCHOOLS MOTION PICTURE COMMITTEE. A committee of the National Board of Review which "represents groups of parents and teachers from public and private schools," whose purpose is to select pictures "suitable for age groups 8-12 and 12-14."
NATIONAL LEGION OF DECENCY: Committee of the International Federation of Catholic Alumnae reviews pictures and publishes its moral classifications for guidance of members of the Legion — composed of those members of the Catholic Church who join the Legion. Designations: Unobjectionable for General Patronage; Unobjectionable for Adults; Objectionable in Part; Condemned.

GENERAL FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS. The motion picture committee ia headed by Mrs. Arretus F. Burt, Chairman, of St. Louis. Two reviewing committees are maintained — Mrs. Harry Lilly, New York, Chairman Eastern Committee; Mrs. John Stearns Thayer, Los Angeles. Chairman Western Committee.
