WwooDy SHOWS This report leaves the Woody Shows in the Sunflower State doing nicely. The trick made a big jump into Kansas on account of too many dogs on one bone in Oklahoma. Manager Robert Woody has purchased a high-diving dog, with a fifty-foot ladder, which is being used as free act. The Woody Show played two days ahead of Boyer’s Minstrels at Coffeyville, Kan. Cheatem, who leaps the gap on skates, was a visitor at Coffeyville. Olgie Stamford is expected to join the show at Mound Valley, Kan. He will play in the band and do a trick shooting act as a free attraction. The manager is figuring on adding a few more concessions and playing the fairs this fall. LITTLE GIANT AMUSEMENT Co. The Little Giant Amusement Company, Prank D. Corey, owner and manager, opened the season in Moorhead, Minn., May 15-19, and found business as good ag expected. From Moorhead the trick moved to Fergus Falls, where the weather interfered. and this week is in Sauk Rapids, Minn., under the Firemen, on the main streets. There are eight shows, three free acts, twenty-six eoncessions, a Parker jumping-horse carousel, a Big Eli wheel and a ten-piece band with the aggregation, STAMFORD CELEBRATION thing is in readiness for the 275th Anniversary and Old Home Week, to be held from June 5 to 10. The celebration is expected to be the biggest of its kind ever held in this part of the country. There will be, it is said, over 6,000 outsiders in the parades. The city is now being decorated in gala attire. The main feature of the celebration will be the big carnival, which will be located on Atlantic street, acposs from the Post Office. The midway will be open from morning until night. METROPOLITAN MEMBERS WED John L. Williams and Mary L. Weime, members of the Metropolitan Shows, were quietly married last week t& Winston-Salem, N. C. Both have been with the Metropolitan since the beginning of the present season, the working her Human Spider act, and the groom riding in tie motordrome. LINIGER-OWESNEY SHOWS The Liniger & Owesney Shows are now on their fourth week, and report business exceptionally good. It is just like one big family with the show, with everybody happy. Paul Liniger, the business manager, is working from early morn until late at night, and is sure some fixer. Capt. Ray Owesney, in addition to severa) other duties, looks after the menu and keeps the cookhouse boys hustling. Harry Liniger and his able assistant, Bobby Scott, see that the show gets up and down on scheduled time. Mlle. Lola and her troupe of canine wonders have an act that is a treat to both young and old. Aerial Cowdens come in for their share of applanse with their sensational double trapeze and double breakaway act, as does also Bessie West, the little lady on the single trapeze. Among the other aerial numbers are Miss DeAimee, swinging ladder; Jack Henry, breakaway sailor perch, and Betty Chester, Roman rings. The equestrian numbers by Mr. and Mrs. Owesney, and Paul Liniger, ia his sailor cloud swing, also get their share of applause. Harry Liniger ts at the head of the “‘joey” contingent, consisting of “Punk” Cartledge, Shep Be@, Steve Crow and Mose Brock. Prof. Lute Hockenberry has the military band of fifteen pieces. All told the show is giving the best of satisfaction good tame for a small outfit, and leaves a wherever it plays. THE PURSUING VENGEANCE (Continued from page 77) bine is all that could be asked for; photography entirely worthy. The acting of Sheldon Lewis, as the witty Crochard, is exceptionally well done. He, ef Clutching Hand fame and The Exploits of Elaine series, is once more seen in a character well suited to his talents. His supporting cast also deserves a snatch of the applause. The story is bubblimg over with thrills and action, and is capable of holding any audience in anxious expectancy. The Pursuing Vengeance ts well worth a berth im the FOR MUTUAL BENEFIT, MENTION THE BILLBOARD WHEN ANSWERING ADVERTISEMENTS. feature class.— WAG.
