Stoltz is well known in the profes sion and especially in St. Louis, having managed both the legitimate houses here, i. e., the Shubert-Jefferson and the American. Indoor Promotions The Gorman Bros.’ Circus, held under the au«pices of the Woodmen of the World at the armory, Grand and Market streets, under the drect management of C. E. James F. Sutherlin. one of the best-known general agents, promoters and outdoor showmen, has decided to “fold up’ and not be with the rest of the boys when the bluebirds chirp in spring. Leatherow, of the Howe-Barmann Balloon Co. of Newark, N. J., was a visitor for a day on a hurried trip as far west as this city. The Howe-Baumann factory has added several thousand «cquare feet of foor space to its already large factory, and has installed about fifty additional men and women to take care of the balloon orders for the coming season. About Town Items The new photeplay house of the Stanley Com pany at Logan opened Thursday evening with three shows a day. The phoeteplay was ‘The Commea Law." It is a beautiful theater of aout 2,°00 seating capacity, and for the present the music end will be organ played by Firman Swinemm. The resident manager fs J. L. Stallman, Photoplays will be the attraction for a time, with a possibility of intreducing vaudeville acts later on. Mae Desmond and her players at the Desmond theater gave a fine performance of the “‘Hunchback of Notre Dame” this week. Redfield Clarke, of the Theater Guild cast, is a guest of the Pen and Pencil Club while playing here. Mr. Olarke is also well known as a writer. Geo, A. Schiller of the “Thank U” show, dined at the club this week in company with Manacer Gray and his wife, of the same companr.
