Interference of official filmdom in the recent gubernatorial campaign in California in behalf of the corrupt, conservative forces was probably the greatest single cause for the defeat of Upton Sinclair. This has incensed liberal forces in all the sta linst the present manage ment of the motion picture industry. Hollywood ha> persistently refused to recognize any variety of ethics, whether moral, commercial!
