EASTMAN KODAK STORES REGULATIONS KODASCOPE LIBRARIES DIVISION Because of the value of the films listed in this catalog, we require applicants for rental film service to fill in and return the Regular Application Form, supplying the information requested. The Special Application Form is also required, if the applicant wishes to use the Spe cial Productions offered in Group Nos. 5 and 6. Customers who start a charge account will find service simplified, as their credit references will establish theii responsibility. The films listed herein are released for non-theatrical use only, and must not be used in theaters and other public places where 35 m/m sound films are customarily shown. The films are copyrighted, and no rights to copy, print or duplicate in any manner or method, are extended to renters, purchasers or other users of the material. TRANSPORTATION CHARGES Transportation charges both ways are to be paid by the user. Rental films which were sent by express to the user, are returnable by the user to Eastman Kodak Stores at half of the outgoing express rate if the express company is informed that the return shipment is a "direct return". PLEASE INSURE ALL SHIPMENTS We require the films to be returned either by insured parcel post, with the valuation set on them at $25.00 per reel, or by express prepaid, valued at the same amount. Express is more desirable as such shipments can be traced easier than parcel post. Rates quoted cover showing of the films only by the renter on the date specified, and they must not be loaned or rc-rcntcd to others. No discount can be allowed to dealers, or others, on films preceded by an asterisk: *. It is urged that alternate selections be stated wherever possible. Unless renter specifically orders "No Substitutions", the library will substitute, when necessary, from the same class of material. Information on type of audience is a valued guide to selection of substitutes. Please do not rewind films, unless this is necessary to return the reels on which the program comes to you. A charge will be made for reels and cans substituted or not returned. Films must not be mounted in such a way as to cut the sound track. REPAIR CHARGE FOR FILM DAMAGE Caution! Never attempt to run a "sound" film on any other than a sound projector. Irreparable damage to Sound Film will result from running it on a "silent" projector. It is the practise of film distributors to charge customers for serious film damage at the rate of 5c per foot. CATALOGS SUPPLIED FREE The Librarian will, upon request, send catalogs or other literature on the latest types of motion picture cameras and projectors, "still" cameras or other photographic equipment. Schools and. other educational institutions are invited to request our literature describing equipment suitable for visual and audio-visual education. Sound projectors will also run any of the many silent subjects which we rent at lower cost. Cata log on request. FILMS MAY BE PURCHASED OUTRIGHT You can start a library of your own. Many of our library films may be purchased at a price reduction based on the number of rentals the reels have had, and if they are bought, no charge will be made for the current rental. A list of films available for outright purchase can be had at our store without charge. The price ranges from $17.50 to about $30.00 per reel. Projectors are available for rental, as well as films, and an operator for the projector can be provided at a moderate service charge.
