Put the reel in the upper magazine and lock the reel-latch, pull down the film until the leader is just above the floor, and insert the film in the fire-trap rollers. 6. Grasp the film with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand about four inches below the upper feed sprocket, and place the film in the studio guides. Simultaneously, grasp the film with the left hand at a point immediately below the intermittent sprocket, and then place the film in frame at the aperture, allowing about four inches of slack film to form the upper loop. Make about a four inch loop (the size of the loop will sometimes vary a frame or so, depending upon the sound head used), and place the film under the lower guide roller and over the lower feed sprocket (Fig. 8). 10. Thread the sound head and insert the film in the lower magazine. Close all the doors. 11. Run the mechanism to the proper starting point on the film.
