"I. lieu" homes top radio's best
Although TV has so far been confined to a limited area of 63 markets, the number of homes reached by the highest-rated shows is dramatic proof of the impact of the visual air medium. Philip Morris' "I Love Lucy," the number-one show during this inseason rating period, is estimated by Nielsen to have reached over 10,000,000 TV homes — far more than are reached by the number-one radio show ("Lux Theatre") in the same period, even making allowances for multiple-set, outdoor listening.
