Photoplay Magazine's Popular Players FRANCIS FORD Universal director and leading man was born in Portland, Maine, and served through the Spanish-American war. On his return from Cuba he went on the stage in stock, and was drafted into the moving pictures in the infancy of the business. He is best known for his work opposite Grace Cunard in the Universal serials "Lucille Love" and "The Broken Coin."
