Already a few early arrivals have taken their seats in the house before the lowered curtain. But the back-stage is a place of vigorous activity. This next hour is "now-or- never." Any change, revision, last-minute direc- tions must be made at this timeā€”for after the curtain goes up, it will be too late. That the stage is set perfectly for the first act of the per- formance is a vital concern, for when the house- lights are dimmed, the time for changes will be past. The success or failure of the play may de- pend on the precision and care with which these last-minute details are arranged. Within an hour, the full audience will be out-front. The critics will be appraising the performance. They will be hard-boiled. It will be too late then to correct or revise. This is the hour of grace, the time for last-minute polishing before the play goes for its test in front of the public. Right now, sight-broadcasting is in exactly that phase.
