I T’S official! Television and screen star William Bendix will act as master of ceremonies for the big TV GUIDE 1953 Awards Telecast, now but a week off. The spectacle will be beamed for a full hour next Friday night, Jan. 15, over WBKB (Channel 7) from 10 to 11 PM. It will run under the sponsorship of Jim Moran of Courtesy Motors and will originate from the Civic Opera Theater here in Chicago. Bendix, who will present the TV GUIDE awards on the show and over¬ see the entertainment, is a TV and RKO film star of long standing. He has won acclaim for many movie roles, most notably The Hairy Ape and Detective Story.
